Do you and your partner keep having the same arguments over and over again? Maybe you can’t agree on religion, parenting approaches, finances, or intimacy.

You feel completely misunderstood by the person who’s supposed to know you best, and there have been significant breakdowns in communication. You’re both frustrated, hurt, and wondering if you’re even compatible anymore.

I understand your hesitations about couples therapy. You’re worried about the expense, concerned that a therapist might take sides, and nervous about airing your personal struggles to a stranger. Maybe you’re afraid therapy will make things worse, or that you’ll be judged for the problems in your relationship.

How I Can Help You

I use a solution-focused, strengths-based approach to therapy to help clients identify and build upon their existing capabilities, regardless of the issue that brings them into therapy. I create a supportive environment where individuals and couples can understand barriers to living healthy, satisfying lives while developing practical skills for positive change.

Clients appreciate my straightforward, empathetic style and my ability to foster hope even in difficult circumstances.

During our work together, I ask a series of questions about the presenting problems to understand what approaches might work best as we begin the process of therapy. I want to know what goals you have for therapy and what you believe will be most beneficial so we can collaborate to learn, grow, heal, and resolve presenting problems.

Treatment Approaches:

  • Solution focused
  • Strengths based

Taking the first step can feel intimidating, but you can come out the other side of your story with renewed strength and purpose. Schedule a brief call with our Intake Coordinator to guide you forward.

What You Can Expect in Therapy

I always give clients something they can start working on when they leave the office. I believe practice makes progress, and clients are best equipped to live healthy, well-adjusted lives as they learn new skills and strategies.

I’m open to incorporating faith perspectives when meaningful to clients, and I bring a non-judgmental presence to my work with people from all backgrounds.

Outside the Therapy Room

I enjoy woodworking, mostly furniture, but I’m getting into woodturning.

I love music. I have an ever-growing record collection, ticket stubs, and wristbands from concerts.

Also, I have a deep appreciation for coffee.
