About Grace

Grace Patterson, a licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate, helps people address life’s hardships and find solutions to create change. Her clinical work focuses on couples, children, and teenagers. Grace knows that seeking help is an act of bravery. She will come alongside you to provide you with the tools you need to create change and find hope. If you are wondering if therapy is right for you, ask yourself: do you feel stuck or do the problems you face negatively impact your daily life. If you answer “yes,” it’s worth it to find someone who will listen, validate your concerns, and guide you to a better future.

Grace uses many concepts from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and trauma focused-cognitive behavioral therapy (TC-CBT) to help address issues and provide practical solutions for moving forward. She uses strength-based therapy to help people discover a positive self-image and discover assets that can help in addressing the inner critic. Grace also works to help clients create practical plans for growth outside of the session to reinforce the gains made in sessions together. Couples who feel “stuck” or desire help in developing a new relational approach can benefit from working with Grace. Grace uses the Gottman method of couples therapy when working with couples. When assisting children and teenagers, Grace guides those struggling with emotional regulation, trauma, anxiety, disruptive thought patterns, panic attacks, depression, and relational difficulties. Play therapy and art therapy techniques may be utilized when working with children and teens. These techniques can often provide greater opportunities to express feelings when words fall short.

Grace has an extensive background in Christian ministry and would be happy to incorporate your own faith practice into the therapeutic process if it is desired.

Grace earned her bachelor’s degree at Taylor University, Fort Wayne, in music and ministry and graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University with a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling in the spring of 2024. She is under the supervision of Kate Hunter, LMHC.
